Formation and Early Years (2015-2018)
Dread Engine was formed in Columbus, Ohio by vocalist Rick Kaercher and drummer Jay Coughlin. The band's roots trace back to a shared interest in bands like Slipknot, Tesseract, and Linkin Park, blending aggressive rhythms with expansive and cinematic sound. The duo was joined by bassist Johnathan Collins and lead guitarist Jake Spears, both of whom contributed to the band's heavy yet intricate sonic style. The band continued to hone their musicianship on stage creating a dedicated fanbase in central Ohio.

Parabellum (2020-2022)
In 2020, Dread Engine released a series of singles including “Change” and “Send It” with accompanying music videos. These tracks launched the start of the bands full-length album Parabellum released in 2021. The album was met with praise from fans and critics alike. Songs like “Interstellar” and “Hollow” showcased the band’s ability to build tension and weave a softer edge into their music while the title track ‘Parabellum’ reminded listeners of the band’s raw energy and introspective lyrics. During this period, the band recruited guitarist Steve Blankenship and would then go on to play multiple festivals including Inkarceration, Blue Ridge Rock Fest, and Rock on the Range.

Terror and Evolution (2023-present)
In 2023, Dread Engine released multiple singles including “Terror” and “All I Need” and continued to tour the eastern US. The band evolved their sound further and began setting sights on their next big project. The band recruited guitarist Seth Mayo and vocalist Davey Bee in 2024.
